This storage feeder is used for knitting fabrics with intermittent yarn consumption. The storage feeder is provided as a yarn forwarding device. Because of the stored length of yarn, need not be switched on and off so accurately as is the case in the absence of a yarn storage device.

This week we are talking about the Positive Feeder. First question, why call it
positive?
Just think it as simple as possible – positive feeder means the yarn is 100% positive infeed in the knitting machine.
The 100 % positive yarn infeed with the positive feeder considerably affects the knitting quality and efficiency of the machine. The task of the positive feeder is to evenly feed the yarn from the yarn bobbin to the needles by applying only minimum tension and to avoid yarn tension fluctuations.
The positive feeder is mechanically powered by a toothed wheel which is connected to the motor of a knitting machine. The speed of the toothed belt drive and 
the resulting yarn quantity from the positive feeder can be continuously set.
Besides powering by toothed wheel, there’re other types available which are powered by punched wheel.
Note: Toothed wheel is a wheel with teeth for making a row of perforations.
