Last Saturday, I wanted to go canoeing in the lake with my family. To take the canoe with me, first thing to do is to tight it up on my car and keep it safe from falling. I tried to tight the canoe with ordinary rope but it keeps slipping off. I then asked for help from my neighbor, and he lent me the ratchet strap which helped me tight the canoe safe and secured all the way from my home to the lake.
When I was back, I went to a hardware store and got me one of these ratchet straps. I found it very useful to tight the cargo stably on my car roof rack when there’s not enough space inside the car.
Here’s a video I found which demonstrated how to use a ratchet strap well and clear:
There’re many things in life that’s easily neglected. Such as buttons, zippers, shoe laces etc. Those things may seem small, but we can’t live without them. A coat without button or a jean without zipper can cause some problem. There’s one more thing that seems minor but plays a significant role in our lives – cam buckle.
Cam buckle provides easy adjustment to hold webbings securely in place. It can be applied on belt, luggage strap, backpacks and more. Some cam buckle is made of plastic which is for normal use, such as for luggage strap. Cam buckle made of metal is for heavy duty purpose and allows high capacity; such as for tightening cargos on truck.
What’s special, cam buckle does not need sawing to make webbings tight because of its self-locking feature. Just simply slip webbing through the slot and cinch tight. The cam action will hold tight until it is released. Is there anything else seems minor but significant in life? Let’s think about it and make a list of it.
Nowadays, more and more people ride bicycles, whether to exercise their body, or to save the environment by reducing CO2. And you got one of these fancy bikes too.
Say on a Sunday afternoon, you want to go to the bookstores a few blocks away, and you ride your bike there. You park your bike outside and go inside the bookstore. You walk out of the bookstore after a few hours of reading… and your bicycle is no longer there.
What happened?
It does not disappear on its own, it got stolen!
You may report to the police; but face it, it’s just a bike. So there’s only a slight chance you will ever see it again. To prevent this from happening again when you get a new bike, the easiest way is to lock your bike by the bicycle U-Lock.
The dual steel bar locking mechanism allows you to lock in just a few seconds and is practical for almost any type of bicycles. The bicycle U-lock enhances security and keeps the thief away. Next time you go to the bookstore by bike, you can enjoy your reading and spare the worry!
